Actress Mamie Gummer cuts a deal for Josie Maran’s rustic Beachwood Canyon home
In a sale from one actress to another, Mamie Gummer has bought Josie Maran’s scenic spot in Beachwood Canyon for $1.36 million.
Built in 1944, the rustic house sports custom wood finishes inside and out. There are original details such as copper countertops in the kitchen and a wood-burning stove in the living room. Terra cotta tile lines the floors.
There are three skylighted bedrooms in about 1,500 square feet of space, and a loft space adds room for a fourth.
Outdoor living spaces include a wraparound deck with built-in planters and a terraced yard with a brick patio.
Gummer, who is the daughter of Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep, paid $58,000 over asking price for the three-bedroom home, records show. The 34-year-old has acting credits that include the shows “The Good Wife†and “Off the Map,†and the film “The End of the Tour†(2015).
Earlier this month it was announced she would appear in the third season of the HBO crime drama “True Detective.â€
Maran has since moved on to Lake Hollywood, where she paid $2.97 million for a Midcentury Modern-style home. The 1960s house sits on roughly half an acre with lake views. It features an open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling windows and a saltwater lap swimming pool.
The 39-year-old Maran get her start as a model before pivoting to acting. She made her film debut in “The Mallory Effect†(2002) and also had roles in the 2004 films “Little Black Book†and “Van Helsing.â€
She launched her eponymous cosmetics line in 2007.
