Price chops: Jason Biggs sheds some digits in Hollywood Hills

Actor Jason Biggs of “Orange Is the New Black” fame and his wife, author Jennifer Mollen, have recast their home in Hollywood Hills West for $2.595 million, down more than 7% from the previous list price.

The couple, having decamped to a new address in Beverly Hills in 2013, originally put the home on the market last summer for $2.995 million and more recently asked $2.795 million. It previously sold for $2.249 million in 2007, records show.

Built in Midcentury Modern style in 1963, the gated home has vaulted ceilings, bright tile, a media room, a den/office, three bedrooms and four bathrooms in 2,756 square feet of space. Floor-to-ceiling windows take in city and ocean views.

The main living areas open to a terrace and a swimming pool. Elsewhere is a dog run.

Errol Flynn haunt at a discount

A Hollywood Regency-style home with ties to leading man Errol Flynn, actor-comedian Paul Lynde and singer-songwriter Moby is now listed at $5.75 million, down from $5.95 million earlier this year.

Built in the 1920s, the home was once lived in by Flynn and long owned by Lynde, who commissioned John Elgin Woolf to remodel the home in the 1950s. Moby came to own the property in 2008, paying $2.95 million, and took a slight loss on the home when he sold it for $2.85 million in 2013.

Recently updated and restored, the 3,700 square feet of living space has 12-foot-high paneled ceilings, Palladian columns and silver-leaf wood floors. French doors take in views of cityscape and grounds containing a trapezoidal pool and domed cabana.

‘The Hoff’ chops his asking price

Actor and singer David Hasselhoff, who has new documentary-style comedy, “Hoff the Record,” coming to television in Britain, has greenlit a $100,000 adjustment on his home in Calabasas.

The Mediterranean-style home, custom built in 1990, is listed for sale at $2.199 million after coming to market in March for $2.299 million. Hasselhoff paid $1.95 million for the 5,767-square-foot house in 2013.

The 1.54-acre spread, with tall palms and formal landscaping, features rock waterfalls, a swimming pool with a spa and various patios. A basketball court sits on the upper portion of the property.

Entered through a vaulted foyer, the home is highlighted by a sunken living room with double-height windows, a family room with a wet bar, five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Former Padre takes another swing

Retired Major League Baseball player Brian Giles is now asking $6.195 million for his estate in the Rancho Pacifica area of San Diego, a $300,000 adjustment from when he relisted the home in February and $1.705 million less than what he paid for the property in 2006.

Custom built in 2004, the single-story Mediterranean is distinguished by arched doorways, beamed ceilings and stone fireplaces. A billiards/game room, a home theater, a center-island kitchen, five bedrooms and five bathrooms are within the 11,758-square-foot floor plan. A guest house adds two additional en-suites.

Formal areas open to a large patio with heat lamps, an outdoor kitchen and a resort-style pool with water slide and waterfall feature. A stone-lined motor court marks the entrance to the home.

The El Cajon native, who made two all-star teams in 15 seasons with the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres, purchased the home in 2006 for $7.9 million. He had asked about $7 million for the property last year.

Pricing on a curve in Temecula

Baseball reliever Ryan Madson, who is back with the Kansas City Royals after missing three seasons due to injury, has brushed back the asking price of his Temecula home by $50,000 to about $1.45 million.

The single-story home, built in 2007, has a basketball half-court, a courtyard, a custom pool and a small vineyard on about two acres in Temecula’s wine country.

Within the nearly 5,000 square feet of living space is a dual-island kitchen, a temperature-controlled office, formal dining and living areas, five bedrooms and three full bathrooms.

The home came on the market last summer for $1.75 million and was more recently listed for about $1.5 million. Records show that Madson, a native of Long Beach, purchased the home in 2012 for $1.2 million.
