NFL: Bill Belichick loosens up on girlfriend’s Twitter account
New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick once famously proclaimed about social media: “I don’t Twitter, I don’t MyFace, I don’t Yearbook, I don’t do any of those things.â€
Well, times have changed ... sort of. The three-time Super Bowl winner made an appearance on Twitter, using the account of his girlfriend, Boston TV personality Linda Holliday, to answer some questions from fans Tuesday night.
Although known to be grumpy with the media, Belichick seemed to have a good time with the fans, who didn’t exactly try to grill the coach with any hard-hitting questions (even though it was the evening following the first day of free agency).
Instead, most everyone seemed happy with learning some basic, light-hearted facts about the guy, such as his favorite candy (Junior Mints), vacation spot (Italy), coaching memory (“Bruschi dumping water on me & my Dadâ€) and Bon Jovi song (“Bounceâ€).
The notorious grouch even had some fun with a couple of the questions. When asked what is the biggest priority for the Patriots this off-season, he answered, “Better coaching.†And when someone wanted to know whether he owned any sweatshirts with sleeves, the cut-off hoodie lover replied, “No -- short arms.â€
Still, when a question was posed about Belichick getting a Twitter account of his own, the reply was, “No time soon!â€
