Two people were shot and another was struck by a vehicle early Tuesday outside a Signal Hill strip club, authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 1:43 a.m. in the parking lot of the Fantasy Castle club in the 2800 block of Walnut Avenue, said Lt. Ron Sagmit of the Signal Hill Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds, he said. A third person had been run over by a motorist fleeing the area after the shooting.

One of the people who were shot declined medical treatment. The second was hospitalized, as was the person who was struck by the vehicle, according to Sagmit said.

All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

Jose Martinez told Onscene.TV that he was struck in the hand shortly after shooting started in the parking lot.

“I just heard gunshots and I just start running… I see my hand it was bleeding already, so I guess I got shot,†he told said.

Detectives are investigating the incident and no arrests have been made, Sagmit said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s mobile crime lab was assisting investigators.

Police closed several streets, including Walnut Avenue and East 28th Street, during their investigation of the shooting.

Sagmit said there have been shootings reported at the strip club in the past, but the most recent such incident was years ago.
