605 Freeway reopened in Santa Fe Springs after fatal crash
All lanes of the 605 Freeway have been reopened after a fatal multivehicle crash near Telegraph Road in Santa Fe Springs early Tuesday forced the closure of the southbound lanes for several hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported to the CHP at 3:45 a.m., said Officer Monica Posada. One man in a four-door sedan died, she said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation. Television news video showed at least one vehicle engulfed in flames. According to CHP incident logs, there were at least four vehicles involved in the crash.
Southbound lanes were closed for several hours “mostly for cleanup of debris,†Posada said.
