3.3 aftershock follows earlier earthquake in Mendocino National Forest

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Saturday morning 22 miles from Rancho Tehama Reserve, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:41 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 37 miles from Red Bluff, Calif., 48 miles from Chico and 50 miles from Ukiah.
This is the third earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered in the area in the past week and the fifth overall in the past week.
