Edwards Lifesciences Changes Organization
Edwards Lifesciences Corp. said it is realigning its organization in an effort to spur growth.
The Irvine company, which makes products to treat cardiovascular disease, also said it remains “comfortable” with analysts’ per-share earnings expectations for last year and 2001.
A First Call/Thomson Financial survey of nine analysts produced a mean earnings estimate of 81 cents a share for the company in 2000, and 97 cents a share in 2001.
The realignment will not affect earnings for either year, Edwards said.
With the new organizational structure, the company named Stuart Foster to head its new Technology & Discovery section and Anita Bessler to lead Global Franchise Management. In addition, the company created a new North American region and named Richard Miller to head the section.
Andre-Michel Ballester, currently responsible for Europe, will take the additional post of head of the company’s new intercontinental region, composed of Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Central Europe.
The new section heads are corporate vice presidents.
Medical device maker Baxter International Inc. spun off Edwards Lifesciences in April.
