Cusack the Actor
Thank you for the article about John Cusack (“A Real Sweetheart,†by Rita Kempley, Aug. 2). I have always enjoyed his movies because he has usually played likable characters, but he must be a great actor because he came off as just another rich, smug and uninformed Hollywood elitist.
How dare he mock those people who are looking forward to getting their $300 back from the government. His parents may be too rich to use the money, but there are a lot of us who aren’t as well off who will use the money to buy school supplies, purchase clothing for our children or make a car payment with it. Like most of us, I wish it was a lot bigger, but it was attitudes from people like him who kept the rest of us from getting more of our own money back.
Thank you, Rita Kempley, for pointing out the sickening hypocrisy in Cusack. I’ll spend my $300 on something other than his new movie.
