Upcoming Dates for Mozart Camerata
The Mozart Camerata’s 1996-97 concert season, which opened over the weekend with guest violinist Sidney Weiss, includes four more programs through May. All concerts will take place at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach; the January Mozart program also will be played at 8 p.m. at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
The remainder of the schedule:
* Oct. 27: C.P.E. Bach’s Sinfonia in B-flat; Two concertos from Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,†with soloists Thi Nguyen and Anait Seiranian; Schubert’s Quartet No. 13 (orchestrated by Porat).
* Jan. 4, 8 p.m., Irvine Barclay; Jan. 5, 4 p.m. St. Andrew’s: Mozart program including the Symphony No. 1, K. 16; Piano Concerto No. 15, K. 450, with soloist Daniel Shapiro; Symphony No. 36, K. 425 (“Linzâ€).
* April 27: Dittersdorf’s “Esther†Overture; Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D, with soloist Vage Ayrikian; Haydn’s Symphony No. 22 in E-flat.
* May 18: Weber’s “Preciosa†Overture; Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, with soloist Roger Wilkie; Schubert’s Symphony No. 6.
