Honeywell Inc.: The Minneapolis-based firm said fourth-quarter profit was $109.2 million, down 72% from the year-ago period, which included a $306-million after-tax gain from asset sales. Without the gain, earnings for the 1989 quarter would have been $66 million. Sales for the 1990 quarter were $1.7 billion, up from $1.6 billion. For the year, profits were $381.9 million, down 37% from 1989, which included a $313-million after-tax gain from asset sales. Sales were $6.3 billion, up from $6.1 billion. Honeywell makes electronic control systems for homes, industry and aviation.
