Quartet earns All-CIF honors

Edison High senior outside hitter Hannah Phair and Huntington Beach senior outside hitter Cami Sanchez earned All-CIF Southern Section Division 1 honors in girls’ volleyball, while Sage Hill junior setter Jade Blevins and senior outside hitter Jamie Dailey made it in Division 3.

Phair led Edison (36-8) to the CIF State Division I championship, the first in the program’s history, the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs, and a share of the Sunset League title.

Phair, a first-team All-Sunset League pick, finished with 376 kills, 286 digs and 47 service aces.

Phair and Sanchez are both heading to UCLA to play sand volleyball.

Sanchez helped Huntington Beach (32-5) reach the CIF State Southern California Regional Division I finals, the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs, and finish in a two-way tie atop the league with the Chargers at 9-1.

Sanchez, who shared the Sunset League MVP honor, had 372 kills and 212 digs.

Blevins and Dailey lifted Sage Hill to its second undefeated Academy League crown.

Sage Hill (23-13, 12-0 in league) reached the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs and the CIF State Southern California Regional Division II playoffs.

Blevins, a member of the Academy League first team, totaled 772 assists, 112 kills, 68 aces, 31 blocks and 315 digs.

Dailey, the Academy League MVP, produced 413 kills, 41 aces and 29 blocks. She is bound for Columbia.
