Boys’ Water Polo: Hack the MVP in PCL

Corona del Mar High senior center Brendan Hack has earned MVP honors for the Pacific Coast League boys’ water polo season.
Hack is joined on the first-team all-league team by CdM senior teammates Ben Brooks and Jon Polos, as well as juniors Matt Moran and Will Rodosky.
Hack scored a team-best 78 goals for Corona del Mar, adding 17 steals. He helped the Sea Kings (20-9) win another Pacific Coast League title and advance to the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs, where they fell to No. 4-seeded Loyola, 11-9, at USC.
Brooks, a center defender, had 23 goals and 16 steals for the Sea Kings. Polos, a driver, tallied 45 goals, 27 steals and 16 assists. The goal total was third on the team, and the steals tied for second.
Moran, a goalie, finished with 224 saves and 24 assists. Rodosky, a utility player, led the league with 74 assists and also had 44 goals and 24 steals.
CdM senior driver Foster Hoose and junior center Tamir Avital earned second-team all-league status.
