IRVINE — Senior middle blocker Natalia Bruening finished with 10 kills in the Sea Kings’ 25-10, 25-11, 25-10 sweep on the road Tuesday, completing the program’s seventh straight undefeated Pacific Coast League title.
Sydney Alacano and Kendall Kipp each had nine kills for CdM (21-4, 10-0 in league).
Payton Carter contributed nine kills.
The Sea Kings, ranked No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1AA poll, learn on Friday who they open up the playoffs with next week.

Crean Lutheran def. Sage Hill
IRVINE — Lightning junior Jamie Daley recorded 25 kills and three services aces in an Academy League match the host Saints pulled off a 27-25, 23-25, 25-20, 10-25, 15-13 upset win against the No. 2-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division 3AA poll on Tuesday.
The setback cost Sage Hill a share of the league title with St. Margaret’s, which finished 11-1 in league, ahead of the 10-2 Lightning. Crean Lutheran took third place at 9-3.
Emily Lassiter contributed 16 kills and five blocks for the Lightning, while Isabel Shapiro had 10 blocks and four kills.
Sage Hill closes out the regular season with a nonleague match at Laguna Beach, ranked No. 5 in Division 2AA, on Thursday at 6 p.m. The section releases the CIF Southern Section playoff pairings on Friday.

Edison def. Newport Harbor
HUNTINGTON BEACH — The Sailors will miss the CIF Southern Section playoffs for the first time since 1981, as host Edison won the Sunset League finale, 25-20, 25-20, 24-26, 18-25, 15-7, on Tuesday.
Newport Harbor finished in fourth place in league at 4-6, two matches behind third-place Los Alamitos. The Sailors cannot qualify as an at-large team into the Division 1AA playoffs because their 12-19 overall record is below .500.

BOYS’ WATER POLO
Corona del Mar 23, Irvine 8
IRVINE — The Sea Kings wrapped up an undefeated Pacific Coast League campaign on Tuesday at Woollett Aquatics Center.
Brendan Hack scored seven goals for Corona del Mar (19-7, 10-0 in league), and Tamir Avital added four. Jon Polos scored three goals, while Andres White, Tanner Roletter (four assists) and Gabe Dickens had two goals each.
Matt Moran made six saves for CdM, ranked No. 6 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.
The Sea Kings conclude the regular season at top-ranked Mater Dei on Thursday at 4 p.m.
