College Roundup: Moniot’s homer highlights OCC win

FULLERTON – Travis Moniot homered and drove in two runs to lead the visiting Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Tuesday.
Robert Teel was two for four with one run batted in and Nolan Powers was two for three to back starting pitcher Ryan Randel, who allowed two runs on four hits in five innings to improve to 4-2.
OCC (23-5, 10-3 in conference) is ranked No. 2 in the state.
Fullerton is 12-17, 2-11.
Cal State Bakersfield 14, UC Irvine 2
Matt Reitano was one for three with two runs batted in to pace the host Anteaters’ five-hit attack in the nonconference game Tuesday.
UCI fell to 12-13, while the Roadrunners, who had 15 hits, are 13-11.
Cal Poly SLO 6, UC Irvine 5
Calvin Faucher surrendered four hits and the game-winning run in the ninth for the host Anteaters in Big West Conference play Sunday.
Parker Coss was three for four with three runs batted in and Mikey Duarte was three for five for UCI, which fell to 1-2 in conference.
Alex Guenette was two for four for UCI.
Cal Poly improved to 10-17, 2-1.
Riverside 6, Golden West 2
Sophomore shortstop Louie Canjura was four for five with one run batted in to pace the host Rustlers in the Orange Empire Conference game Tuesday.
Golden West fell to 15-13, 7-6 in conference while RCC (22-8, 10-3) remained tie for first with Orange Coast.
