Art show will raise money for water stations
Surfrider Newport Beach will present the second annual Waste-Less Art Show fundraiser from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Volcom’s headquarters at 1740 Monrovia Ave. in Costa Mesa.
Proceeds will be used to put water filling stations throughout the community in an effort to reduce the use of plastic water bottles, according to a news release.
The event will feature artists presenting their work, plus raffle prizes, live music and drinks.
Surfrider Newport Beach is an organization that promotes ocean protection and reducing the effects of plastics on the marine environment.
MommyCon conference set in Costa Mesa
The Hilton hotel in Costa Mesa will host MommyCon, a conference Saturday that will include educational programming on natural parenting methods and 80 exhibitors showcasing products.
Last year, MommyCon held nine sold-out conferences nationwide, according to a news release.
Saturday’s event in Costa Mesa will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Hilton is at 3050 Bristol St.
Tickets range from $45 to $100 and are available through MommyCon.com.
