Estancia’s Pizarro shares Orange Coast League Offensive MVP

Estancia High sophomore Kevin Pizarro earned the Orange Coast League Offensive MVP award in boys’ soccer after he lifted the Eagles to the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs.
Pizarro, a repeat first-team pick, produced 11 goals and 13 assists. The assists are the second-best total in Orange County.
The Eagles (16-6-5, 5-2-3 in league) made their first semifinal appearance since 1999-2000 season. They placed third in league for the second consecutive season.
Estancia senior defensive midfielder Marco Pineda, senior midfielder Abraham Cortes and senior midfielder Jorge Mendoza are on the first team.
Pineda finished with five goals and two assists.
Cortes had seven goals and six assists.
Mendoza had three goals and nine assists.
Estancia junior defender Christian Monroy and senior defender Carlos Herrera made the second team.
The Orange Coast League named Godinez senior Omar Morales as its MVP.
