High School Roundup: Stratton leads Eagles to win

COSTA MESA — Senior Kassie Stratton had 12 points and freshman Celia Duran added 10 to pace the Eagles in their nonleague home game Tuesday.
Estancia (10-6) opens Orange Coast League play Tuesday at home against Laguna Beach at 7 p.m.

Sage Hill 3, Whitney 0
NEWPORT COAST — Maddie Culberson scored her fifth goal of the season to help lead the Lightning to the Academy League-opening win Tuesday.
Culberson scored in the sixth minute off an assist from Noosha Deravi. Sofia Herzlinger and Francesca D’Agostino scored an unassisted goal each. Goalie Alexa Thomas had three saves for Sage Hill (6-4-1, 1-0 in league), which will play against Crean Lutheran South Friday at 3:15 p.m. at Dovecreek Park in Irvine.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Sage Hill 2, Whitney 2
CERRITOS — Kavi Sakraney had two assists for the Lightning in their Academy League opener Tuesday.
Michael Schidlovsky and Taylor Ross scored a goal each for Sage Hill (4-2-1, 0-0-1 in league). The game was tied, 2-2, at halftime. In overtime, the game was called a tie due to darkness.
Goalie Mason Weinstein had six saves.
Alex Till, Colton Gyulay, Eric Cheng and Jack Percival stood out for the Lightning.
Whitney is the defending Academy League champion.
Sage Hill will play host to Crean Lutheran Friday.
