High School Wrestling Roundup: Newport Harbor notches win over Godinez

Newport Harbor High’s wrestling team earned its second win of the season on Wednesday, defeating Godinez 41-24 in a dual meet at Foothill High.

The Sailors (2-7) also competed in dual meets with El Toro and Foothill. Newport Harbor was defeated by the Chargers 58-12, and it fell to the Knights 60-18.

Newport Harbor’s Conrad Izzi (170 pounds), Austin Osumi (195) and Miguel Licona (220) each won all three of their matches on the day.

Licona recorded all of his victories by pin, while Osumi and Izzi each pinned two opponents.
