High School Roundup: Costa Mesa girls’ soccer wins Orange Coast League title

Rayleen Chavez and Natalia Guzman scored a goal to lead the Costa Mesa High girls’ soccer team to a 2-0 win Monday at Santa Ana, helping the Mustangs clinch their first Orange Coast League title since the 2008-09 season.
Costa Mesa (16-1-5, 8-0-1 in league) will finish the regular season at rival Estancia (7-8-1, 5-3-1) on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Los Amigos 5, Bolsa Grande 1: Gustavo Oleta and Francisco Lopez both had two goals and two assists to lead the visiting Lobos in Monday’s Garden Grove League match.
Fernando Francisco added a goal, and Alfonso Montano had an assist.
Los Amigos (14-2-1, 8-1) has a one-game lead over Santiago (17-4-2, 7-2) and Loara (11-5-2, 7-2) heading into its season finale at home against the Cavaliers on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Loara beat Santiago 2-1 on Monday, assuring the Lobos at least a share of the league title. It is Los Amigos’ first league championship since 2012-13.
