High School Girls’ Soccer Roundup: Lowe’s goal enough for Sage Hill

Freshman Sofia Lowe scored in the 14th minute, and the Sage Hill School girls’ soccer team made it stand up for a 1-0 win over host Costa Mesa in a nonleague game on Thursday.
Sophomore Anika Nielsen drew the assist.
Sage Hill also deployed two goalkeepers, with sophomore Nicole Motherway (two saves) playing the first half and junior Michelle Hung (four saves) playing the second half.
Sage Hill (3-1-0) will play Whittier in the North Orange County Classic at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 27. The game will take place at Whittier California High.
Corona del Mar 2, Fountain Valley 2
The host Barons led twice in Thursday’s Ocean View Winter Classic match, but CdM’s Celeste Wayne and Kennedy Campbell scored goals to erase a pair of one-goal deficits.
Ava McKenzie also registered an assist for the Sea Kings (2-1-1).
Fountain Valley is now 2-0-1.
CdM plays tournament host Ocean View at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
