Golf: Knapp earns medalist honors at Husky Invitational

Jake Knapp, a former Estancia High standout, earned medalist honors and led the UCLA men’s golf team to a first-place tie in dramatic fashion at Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash.

Knapp made a birdie from about 12 feet out on the final hole to give the 10th-ranked Bruins a share of first place at Gold Mountain Golf Club’s Olympic Course.

Knap won individual honors by three strokes with a three-round total of seven-under-par 209 after a final round of one-under 71. He also shot 71-61.
