FAIRFAX — The UC Irvine men’s golf team finished fifth Tuesday at the Meadow Club.
Host California won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 804. San Diego State was second at 806, Oregon State third at 825, UC Davis fourth at 829 and UCI fifth at 832 in the 16-team field.
Alex Kang of San Diego State was medalist at 16-under-par 197 (62-67-68).
UCI senior Max Greil finished seventh at nine-under 204 (70-68-66) and sophomore Jerry He was 16th at 208 (70-70-68).

SANTA CLARITA — Jamie Heenan had 13 kills and nine digs to lead the Lions to a 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 Golden State Athletic Conference victory Tuesday.
KaUwila Lavea had 11 kills and Alexandra Leja had 29 assists and 11 digs, while Ariel Strickler had 13 digs for Vanguard (12-9, 4-8 in conference).
