NEWPORT BEACH — Seniors Lynda Xepoleas and Kalika Slevkove, as well as sophomore Nini Ugrelidze, all swept in singles for CdM in the nonleague win Wednesday.
It was the first regular dual match for CdM (1-0), which finished second at a tournament in Fresno over the weekend.
CdM hosts rival Newport Harbor at 3 p.m. today in the Battle of the Bay.

IRVINE — Lightning sophomore Liana Korber took two of three sets at No. 1 singles in the nonleague match Wednesday at Woodbridge High.
Sage Hill (4-2) got its other set win in doubles, where Kimberly Brown and Casey Astorino won a set.
Sage Hill, which has fallen to two top 10 teams in Orange County this week, plays another Friday when it visits Laguna Beach.

COSTA MESA — Senior Charlie Umansky scored eight goals to lead the Eagles in their nonleague season opener Wednesday at Estancia High.
Brody Henscheid scored twice for the Eagles against the visitors from Lake Elsinore, and senior goalie Conner Graham added 20 saves.

SANTA ANA — Charlotte Skjonsby was medalist for the Sailors with a 10-over par 46 on Wednesday at Santa Ana Country Club.
Tara Hanna (47), Amelia Thomas (55), Lauren Pfeifer (57) and Alley Damser (58) also scored for Newport Harbor (0-4). The Sailors have their league opener today at David L. Baker against Huntington Beach.

NEWPORT COAST — Maggie Danner had six kills and eight digs but JSerra swept Wednesday’s nonleague match at Sage Hill, 25-19, 25-15, 25-19.
Natasha Sakraney had four kills for the Lightning (2-6).
