NEWPORT BEACH — Junior Chase Wheatley shot a one-under-par 34 to earn medalist honors at Newport Beach Country Club on Tuesday, improving the Sea Kings’ record to 4-0.
Mike Moorhead and Brian Mull each finished with 36s for CdM.

DOVE CANYON — Senior Carter Norris earned medalist honors with a one-under-par 35 in the Sailors’ nonleague match at Dove Canyon Country Club on Tuesday.
Eli Gomez shot a 38 for the Sailors (2-1). Brad Tapfer had a 39.

COSTA MESA — Eagles senior Jake Knapp was co-medalist of Tuesday’s Orange Coast League opener, shooting a three-over-par 39 at Mesa Verde Country Club.
Jake Stone (42), Aaron Wood (42), Bill Crosson (43) and Courtland Lee (45) also scored for Estancia (3-1, 1-0 in league).
The Eagles play Fountain Valley on Thursday at Mesa Verde.

COSTA MESA — Estancia sophomore pitcher Kelly Hinkle struck out 10 batters in the nonleague game Tuesday at Estancia High.
Denise Perez was two for three for the Eagles (1-4), while Hinkle, Kayla Hayes, Rachelle Reynolds and Gianna Guyot each added single hits.
Estancia previously won its first game of the season Saturday in the Costa Mesa Tournament, defeating Santiago, 17-6. Hinkle allowed just three hits and struck out three, while junior Leticia Ortega was two for two with a double and two RBIs.
Estancia plays at Bolsa Grande on Thursday.

LAS FLORES — Junior Alec Adamson and freshman Chaz Downing both swept at love in singles for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s nonleague match at Tesoro High.
Freshman Henry Gordon won his first set against Tesoro’s top player before leaving with an ankle injury. Sophomores Carson Williams and Josh Kliger swept in doubles for CdM (2-0), as did Paul Kacik with partners Andrew Nguyen and Tyler Gaede.
The Sea Kings play host to Laguna Beach on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

NEWPORT BEACH — Alex Manolakas and Eric Magliarditi swept in doubles for the Lightning in the nonleague match Tuesday at The Tennis Club Newport Beach.
Robbe Simon and Ryan Lee each won two singles matches for Sage. Dennis Cirit and Sam Sherman also won two doubles matches, including the last set on court to earn Sage’s ninth set.
The Lightning (0-3) play host to Oxford Academy on Thursday.

Costa Mesa 93, Los Amigos 76
COSTA MESA — Senior James Lewis and sophomores Mason Cooper and Tyler Connors were all double event winners for the Mustangs in the nonleague meet Tuesday at Costa Mesa High.
Lewis won the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 56.95 seconds and also captured the 500 free (5:24.16). Cooper won the 50 free (24.11 seconds) and 100 free (54.51), while Connors won the 100 butterfly (1:02.61) and also the 100 backstroke (1:01.97).
Junior Victor Gonzalez won the 200 individual medley in 2:18.56 for Costa Mesa, which swims at Ocean View on Thursday.

COSTA MESA — Dylan Gaitan had seven kills for the Eagles, who lost the nonleague match, 25-17, 36-34, 25-14, Tuesday.
