UC Irvine def. Cal State Northridge
IRVINE — Junior opposite Carson Clark had a match-high 15 kills to pace a 25-21, 25-17, 25-17 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation victory for the host Anteaters on Friday.
Clark hit .500 to help No. 8-ranked UCI improve to 8-8, 5-5 in conference.
Senior Jordan DuFault had 10 kills and hit .364, while freshman Scott Kevorken had nine kills and hit .800 for the winners.
Kevin Carroll had five block assists and senior Anthony Spittle chipped in 40 assists for UCI.
Northridge fell to 3-10, 2-6.
UCI plays host to Hawaii in MPSF action Monday and Tuesday at 6 p.m.

BASEBALL
Arizona Christian 2, Vanguard 1
COSTA MESA — The visitors scored twice in the eighth inning to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the nonconference game Friday.
Vanguard had five of the game’s nine hits and Brandon Young managed the lone run batted in for the Lions (4-6).
Vanguard starter Jason Dovel allowed just two hits in 7 2/3 innings to absorb the loss. He walked five and struck out six.
Arizona Christian is 8-11.
The two teams’ doubleheader scheduled for today has been cancelled due to rain and will not be made up.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Riverside 68, Orange Coast 49
RIVERSIDE — Helena Robel scored 10 points to lead the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Friday at Riverside Poly High.
Samantha Hansen added nine points for OCC (22-8, 9-3 in conference).
The Tigers are 17-12, 7-5.
