High School Roundup: Sage Hill boys’ water polo edges Katella in CIF Division 5

The Sage Hill School boys’ water polo team shocked Golden West League champion Katella 10-8 on the road Tuesday in a CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoff opener.
The Lightning (10-8), who received an at-large berth into the postseason, will be at home for their second-round match against Cypress on Thursday.
The Centurions (15-10), an at-large selection out of the Empire League, defeated Orange League champion Western 19-13 in their CIF opener.
West Torrance 14, Los Amigos 11: The host Lobos took the loss in a Division 5 playoff opener on Tuesday at Westminster La Quinta High School.
Los Amigos (12-8) won the Garden Grove League title this season.
Ocean View 18, Alhambra 3: The Seahawks advanced via a blowout win at home on Tuesday in the first round of the Division 6 playoffs.
Ocean View (10-14), which was the third-place team in the Golden West League this season, travels to take on Moreno Valley at Valley View High School at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Esperanza 12, Pacifica Christian Orange County 6: The Tritons were doubled up on the scoreboard in a Division 3 wild-card round match on Tuesday on the road.
Pacifica Christian (12-6) was the third-place team in the San Joaquin League this fall.
Loara 14, Estancia 4: The visiting Eagles were eliminated from the Division 5 playoffs with Tuesday’s wild-card round defeat.
Estancia (9-5) finished in third place in the Orange Coast League this season.
