Huntington Beach police arrested a 19-year-old man Tuesday on suspicion of selling marijuana to teenagers at a city park.
At about 4 p.m., an officer received information about the drug being sold in Murdy Park at 7000 Norma Drive, according to a release from the department. The officer, who was in uniform and driving a marked police vehicle, witnessed an adult making hand-to-hand sales of marijuana to high school-age youth.
While the sales occurred, two teams of 6-year-old children were practicing soccer nearby in the park, according to the release.
Jesse Ivan Hernandez of Huntington Beach was arrested and booked at the city jail.
According to the release, the teenagers were buying individual “nuggets” of marijuana for $5 to $10 and smoking the entire amount in the park before heading home from school.
