The daughter of the Huntington Beach police chief pleaded not guilty May 26 to stabbing her husband in the chest during a domestic dispute.
Midway City resident Jennifer Sue Small, 31, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony corporal injury on a spouse for the alleged May 24 incident at a hotel.
Small’s husband called police to the Beach West Hotel at 15401 Beach Blvd. after a domestic dispute in which she allegedly stabbed him in the chest, officials said.
The wound was non-life-threatening, said Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Small is in custody at the Central Jail Complex on $80,000 bail. She is expected to begin her preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Courtroom W-15 at the West Justice Center in Westminster.
