Dr. Paul Howard Hamilton, Jr, DDS of Newport Beach,
CA died on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the age of 83.
First and foremost, Paul was a loving husband, father,
and grandfather. He had a long, successful career as a
dentist in his own practice, working with his wife Carol.
He loved teaching his craft as a long time member of the
faculty at the University of Southern California Dental
School.
He loved flying “out to the river (their vacation spot
in Blythe CA),” with Carol as co-pilot, and kids and dog
packed in the back of the plane. Once there, it was out
on the water with the boat, enjoying “river dogs” and a
beer, and, most importantly, time with the family. He was
a member of the Balboa and Transpacific Yacht Clubs, as
sailing also lifted his spirit, along with Dixieland Jazz
and a game of pool or cards with friends and family. He
always had a joke to share, and his smile and sense of
humor added to many an occasion.
Paul enjoyed the best of what life had to offer him, and
those who enjoyed life with him will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife Carol, his children Carrie,
Paul III, and Kelly; their spouses Paul, Marcy, and
Gerry; six Grandchildren Lydia, Christopher, Eric, Mark,
Rex, and Megan; and Rodney, Paul and Carol’s faithful
Weimaraner.
Services will be held at Pacific View Memorial
Park, Corona Del Mar. A Service of Witness to the
Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:30pm on Wednesday,
April 28, 2010.
