Burke is efficient on mound for Titans

Twelve-year-old Ryan Burke of the Huntington Valley Little League Titans pitched well March 29 against the Trojans.
He needed only 58 pitches in six innings to win the game, 6-2. He held the Trojans to only two hits and had nine strike outs.
Seaview Little League
Majors Division
Padres 4, Angels 1: Nolyn Jacobs was dominant on the mound for the Padres on April 1. Jacobs pitched 5 2/3 innings, had 15 strikeouts and only allowed one run. Jacob Price hit a single to drive in Zac Ciulei and Brett Kramer.
Ciulei relieved Jacobs in the bottom of the sixth to close the game. Ciulei also hit a run batted in to drive in Brett Kramer. John Thomas hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the last run.
Padres 5, Yankees 4: The Padres beat the Yankees in their first game of the season March 30, a come-from behind victory.
John Thomas scored the first run in the second inning on a double from Jacob Price. Nolyn Jacobs hit a home run in the fourth inning. Brett Kramer hit a triple, driving in Elijah Orr and Jacobs in the fifth inning. Thomas then drove in the winning run (Brett Kramer) in the top of the sixth.
The pitching team of Jacobs, Shane Vaughn, Kramer, Price and Zac Ciulei allowed only four runs.

Ocean View Little League
Minor A Division
Bandits 8, Knights 2: Two red-hot teams squared off and the Bandits grabbed an early lead, scoring four runs through two innings. The Knights battled back in the top of the fourth inning, notching two runs on key hits from Spencer Stanbridge and Ken Takada. In the bottom of the fourth, the Bandits regained control, scoring two additional runs to increase the lead to five. The Bandits never looked back, notching an 8-2 victory featuring strong fan and family support from both teams.
Daniel Myers led the Bandits offensively with double, single and two runs scored. Ryan Green and Brad Vega also added two hits apiece. The Bandits’ four-man pitching staff was near dominant and in control. Garrett Runyan, Ryan Welander and Ben McConnell held the Knights to two runs on four hits through four innings. Zeke Ziegler closed out the win, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out four.
Minor B Division
Hooks 15, Sea Dogs 14: There were 21 hits between the two teams, giving the fans much to cheer about. Pitching for the Sea Dogs were Jared Manzo, Damien Ibrahim and Jag Burden. Tyler Overton and Evan Gates pitched outstandingly for the Hooks.
The game ended when Tyler Overton caught a hard-hit line drive with the bases loaded.

Minor C Division
Threshers vs. Timber Rattlers: The Threshers had a great game Saturday against the Timber Rattlers. Jimmy Campbell, playing first base, caught a line drive and tagged the runner out for a double play. Brendon Saraf, on third base, tagged the runner from second out, and Alec Muirhead racked up two outs and an assist.
On offense, the Threshers were nearly unstoppable. Sean Headley, Samuel Mejia and Muirhead each had a single with one RBI each. Lucas Pantel, Hunter Smith and Saraf had two RBIs each. Nick Skorheim had three RBIs and Porter Reynolds had a double and two singles good for four RBIs. But the really big news was the sixth inning solo home run for Muirhead.

Farm Division
Tarheels vs. Dirtbags: The Tarheels made good use of their gloves in a Farm Division showdown against the Dirtbags. Third baseman Isaac Ballinas and shortstop Quinn Ortiz snared line drives, second baseman David Drigla made a backhand grab of a pop-up and Jack Carmody and Brendon Paduano delivered perfect throws from the pitchers’ mound to get outs at first base.
Hot-hitting A.J. Hurtado slugged a first-inning home run to right-center field for the Tarheels, his third homer in six games. Gavin Kells, Jackson Harris, Nathan Halloran, Elijah Herrera, Trent Cleboski and William Lawler contributed hard hits for the Tarheels.
