Pet Of the Week

SAMANTHA

Samantha used to be an apartment community’s stray cat they called Sam before the Filippo family noticed that her tummy was getting bigger.

Community Animal Network was called to help, but couldn’t find a foster family to take her in.

The Filippo family would foster her and her kitten family, but their pet-loving landlord was not happy to see Samantha through the screen door in their tiny apartment with two cats already.

“You can see the kittens in her tummy swirling now,” Lori Filippo said.

Community Animal Network needs the public’s help. We will be showing Samantha at Fashion Island from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, until she gives birth, in hopes of a family fostering her.

Call to help Samantha or see photos of other animals at www.animalnetwork.org.

We have raised enough money for Brady’s eye surgery, which will stop the eyelashes from rubbing on his corneas.

From May 3 to 7, Ruby’s restaurants will donate 20% of their food purchases to Community Animal Network. Call (949) 759-3646 to help deliver the “Fun”raiser fliers.

If you would like to help with a donation, mail a check to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658 and memo it “nonprofit tax ID 33-0971560.”
