Pet Of the Week

Spice Girl Ginger

The dog-friendly, 10-month old tortoiseshell kitten named Ginger is the last available one that was named after the sensational “Spice Girls” quintet.

The Community Animal Network frivolously decorated the adoption cage at Fashion Island with pink beads and girly things to draw attention, and helped bring a fun theme to its event.

“Ginger is the ‘ultimate lap cat’ and has mink-like fur,” said her caregiver, Vicki. “It is just hysterical to see her watch television and bat at the images or run to the phone when it rings and just stare. She plays nonstop with the wand toy and rides on my son’s shoulders, too.”

Call (949) 759-3646 to meet Ginger in the caregiver’s home in Newport Beach. Or meet Ginger and other cats and kittens that are up for adoption, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, at Fashion Island, sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience.
