Skippy

Adapting to sleepless nights with a newborn baby is challenging for any parent. But adding the fact that your first “pet child” is acting out and your baby is allergic is a crisis of emotion added on to handling sleepless nights.

The declawed white tabby cat named Skippy has been part of the Cook family for 12 years. Unfortunately, the baby is allergic, and Skippy is stalking the child and urinating on its toys.

Skippy is accustomed to a quiet environment, and his new home needs to be “stress free” without children. He gets along with dogs and is a couch potato that likes to sit next to you.

Inappropriate urination is not that uncommon for cats when they want to let it be known that they are unhappy with the changes going on in a home.

Feline expert Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchell says: “His physical exam, lab tests and urinalysis were essentially normal.” She clarifies that his house soiling is a result of stress and anxiety living with a new baby.
