Two arrested on suspicion of robbery

Police have arrested two men believed to have stolen money from a Huntington Beach restaurant.

William Trapp, 41, a Hawaiian Gardens resident, and Mark Frank Delgadillo, 39, a Cerritos resident, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, use of a firearm during a robbery, false imprisonment and other offenses, officials said.

Armed men stole money from Valentino’s Pizza and its employees at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday and fled in a gray Scion XB. Near Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, an officer spotted a vehicle matching a description of the robbers’ and pulled it over in Sunset Beach, said Lt. Russell Reinhart.

When the vehicle stopped, one of the men got out of the car and started running between houses. A police helicopter was employed to track him from the air and lead the officers on the ground to where the man was hiding next to a residence, Reinhart said.

Both men were arrested, and a loaded firearm and money matching the amount stolen were recovered during the arrest, Reinhart said.
