RIVERSIDE — Junior outside hitter Kari Pestolesi amassed 19 kills, 15 digs and two aces to key the visiting Anteaters’ 25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 25-19 Big West Conference victory Saturday.
Pestolesi hit .310 for the winners (21-6, 10-4 in conference), who also received 12 kills apiece from Juliane Piggott and Larissa Nordyke.
Taryn Robertson had 52 assists and Kristin Winkler had 24 digs for the winners.
Riverside fell to 6-19, 3-11.

COSTA MESA — Newport Harbor High product Jamie Heenan and Kelsey Wirt had 11 kills apiece to pace the Lions’ 25-20, 25-21, 28-26 Golden State Athletic Conference home triumph Saturday.
Meghan Walsh chipped in 34 assists and a team-high 14 digs for the winners (17-12, 11-9 in conference).
San Diego Christian is 10-22, 1-19.

SANTA BARBARA — Cole Bieskis scored three goals for the No. 7-ranked Anteaters in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match Saturday.
Brandon Johnson added two goals, while goalie Matt Johnson had eight saves for UCI (15-9, 3-3 in the MPSF), for which Greg Enloe, Kyle Kruip, Mihailo Jevtovic and Harvey Newland scored one goal each.
The No. 10-ranked Gauchos dropped to 12-12, 1-5.
The Anteaters play host to Pepperdine today at 2 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The UC Irvine men’s team finished 18th and the women’s squad 21st Saturday.
Stanford won the men’s title with 27 points, Portland was second with 84 and Oregon third with 109. UCI totaled 499 points in the meet at the Springfield Country Club.
UCI’s Brett Matejka placed 86th in 32 minutes, 54.48 seconds over the 10,000-meter course, Rex Nelson was 91st (32:57.90), Sam Hyams 93rd (32:58.80) and Victor Bonilla 109th (33:24.20).
Barrett Tilley was 137th (34:03.89), Austin Williams 157th (34:39.30) and Andy Burich 172nd (35:35.27) to round out UCI’s lineup.
Washington captured the women’s championship with 25 points. UCI scored 581 points.
Redshirt freshman Chloe Fata led UCI with a 76th-place finish of 22:39.04 over 6,000 meters. Melissa Mead was 103rd (23:00.14), Shelby Pock 117th (23:12.11) and Katherine Nielsen 159th (24:12.37).
Shelley Foerster placed 163rd in 24:18.44, Nicole Mendoza was 167th in 24:25.14 and Carlotta Pham 170th in 24:33.91 to complete the Anteaters’ seven runners.

LEWISTON, Idaho — Billy Azizi had 15 points and Billy Thompson added 14 for the Lions in the second game of the LC Invitational at Lewiston High Saturday.
Azizi made seven of 11 field-goal attempts for Vanguard (0-2).
Greg Scott had 11 points and four assists and Alex Chapman had 11 rebounds for the Lions.

LEWISTON, Idaho — Junior Alex Chapman and senior Elvis Whitlow led the Lions with 15 points apiece in opening round of the LC Invitational at Lewiston High Friday night.
Whitlow and Chapman both made three of four three-point tries, while Chapman added seven rebounds, four blocks and three assists.
Greg Scott and Billy Azizi had 10 points apiece.
