FOUNTAIN VALLEY — The Sailors’ No. 1 doubles team of Christina Young and Ricki Archie swept in the nonleague match Thursday at Los Caballeros Tennis Club.

Newport Harbor (4-2) overcame a 7-5 deficit after two rounds, winning five of the last six sets. No. 2 singles player Rebecca Arnold was the only Sailor to beat the Monarchs’ No. 1, Neda Ghassemi, 6-4. Newport Harbor’s Blake Bakkilla also recorded a key win against Jordan Kerney and the No. 2 doubles team of Alex Aiello and Riley Mathies posted a big 6-2 victory against Mater Dei’s No. 1 tandem.

CORONA DEL MAR — Katelyn Ngueyn swept at No. 3 singles for the Sea Kings in the nonleague match Thursday.

In doubles, Kelli Feeley and Azadeh Nazemi won twice, 6-0, 6-1, for CdM (4-1).

COSTA MESA — Amanda Johnson and Grace Kim both shot six-over-par 41 to share medalist honors for the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League match at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Thursday.

Ashley Varner (42), Tess Crane (44) and Caitlin Shinohara (46) also scored for CdM (3-5, 2-1 in league).

COSTA MESA — Ashley Peters shot five-over-par 40 to earn medalist honors for the Eagles in the nonleague match at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Thursday.

Kim Haycraft (42), Maritza Gonalez (43), Nicole Irigoyen (44) and Jeana de Arakal (48) also scored for Estancia (9-2), which plays against Costa Mesa Tuesday.

NEWPORT BEACH — Lauren Draganza shot three-over-par 39 for the Sailors in the Sunset League match at Big Canyon Country Club Thursday.

Lindsey Hanna and Morgan Moody both shot 42, while Casey Jones (43) and Ali Thomas (44) also scored for Newport (7-0, 2-0 in league).

COSTA MESA — Junior Lily McLendon had 22 kills for the Eagles, but the Vikings won the nonleague match, 24-26, 26-24, 28-26, 25-19, Thursday.

Senior Amy Hartwell added 21 kills, senior Amanda Watson had 31 digs and senior Shona Lamb had 42 assists for Estancia (7-2).

South Coast Tournament

CORONA DEL MAR — Corona del Mar High opened with an 11-3 victory over Edison and also beat San Clemente, 12-5, Thursday.

Max Bergeson scored five goals and Chase Watson had two against Edison. Watson scored six goals and Michael Liao had two against San Clemente.

CdM (5-0) will face Loyola in the quarterfinals today at 5 at CdM.

South Coast Tournament

NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor beat Granite Hills, 15-3, and Santa Barbara, 13-3.

The Sailors will face The Bishop’s in the quarterfinals today at Newport Harbor.
