A fight between three men and twin brothers outside a Newport Beach bar Monday night left one man unconscious and two people arrested. Twin brothers David Vu Tran and Alexander Vu Tran, 20, both of Garden Grove, were arrested outside the Beach Ball Bar, 2116 W. Oceanfront, about 1 a.m. Wednesday after a fight with three 21-year-old men who they said had made derogatory comments about Asians. The men, Trevor Titus, 21, of Victorville and Matthew Poland, 21, and Trevor Hunter, 21, both of Chino Hills, told police the Tran brothers made comments about “white boys.”
Hunter suffered a cut to his head, Poland had scrapes and Titus was knocked unconscious, police said. Authorities determined both Trans were the aggressors and arrested them on felony battery charges because of the other men’s injuries. They pleaded not guilty in court Thursday. Everyone involved declined medical treatment.
