Diners find comfort at Zov’s

When Zov Karamardian, executive chef and owner of the Zov’s family of restaurants, introduced a classic Eastern Mediterranean family supper for $13.95 as a special one Monday last month, little did she know that it would result in one of the busiest Monday nights all year for her three restaurants!

Now, Zov has dubbed every Monday Kebob Night at the Cafe at Zov’s Bakery & Café in Tustin, and Zov’s Neighborhood Café & Bar in Newport Coast and Irvine. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Mondays, all three Zov’s locations will feature Executive Chef/Owner Zov Karamardian’s cherished family recipes that will allow diners to create their own meal of flavorful trios of kebobs served with traditional sides, classic starters called mezze, and refreshing Mediterranean cocktails.

The Kebob Night at the Cafe menu starts at $13.95 and includes a trio of grilled kebobs (combinations to change weekly), tahini and yogurt sauces, jasmine rice pilaf and choice of two sides, including fattoush salad, m’jaddarah, grilled eggplant, tomato and cucumber salad, cabbage salad and mashed potatoes.

“For generations, my family has always found comfort in an everyday supper that is full of flavor and warmth, so we decided to create specials, similar to the meals we share at home, for my guests and their families and friends to enjoy,” explains Karamardian, who, along with her husband Gary, shares regular meals with her two children and three grandchildren. “These kebob recipes have been in my family for years and it is an honor to be able to share them with my guests and offer great-tasting, filling meals at valuable and affordable prices.”
