Costa Mesa-based Experian has recently donated $50,000 to Junior Achievement (JA) of Orange County.
Nonprofit Junior Achievement is the world’s largest and fastest-growing organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics, and free enterprise. Through age-appropriate curricula, JA programs begin at the elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers, and consumers. JA programs continue through the middle and high school grades, preparing students for additional key economic and workforce issues they will face in the future. Today JA reaches more than 9 million students in 108 countries worldwide.
‘We are honored to receive a generous donation of $50,000 from Experian,” said Christine Shewbridge, president, JA of Orange County. “Experian has been a long-term, strong supporter of the JA mission of inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Since 2004, over 4,000 elementary students at Taft Elementary in Santa Ana have had Experian volunteers teach JA’s hands-on program materials to help students understand the business of life – opening students’ minds to their potential and preparing them for the world of work.”
