Helping working women look the part

Working women can receive a boost and pay it forward with the Hanger’s “I Got the Job†event through Monday.
The event at the upscale resale boutique offers discount professional attire, and 100% of the proceeds support Fountain Valley’s nonprofit organization Working Wardrobes.
“When money’s tight, there are still ways to get that awesome wardrobe,†said Mikel Gajkowski, Working Wardrobes communications manager.
The event is designed to assist unemployed women by giving them a free suit when they purchase one and a certificate for a free résumé consultation with Working Wardrobes at their Fountain Valley Career Center.
Working Wardrobes is an independent organization aimed at helping men and women coming out of crisis, according to Gajkowski. The organization provides free career development programs to the public in everything from career assessment testing and crafting a resume to providing clients with up-to-date job listings.
“This is an organization that really changes lives on a daily basis,†Gajkowski said. “We have clients that come in and working with them really is a life-changing experience.â€
The event is at the Hanger’s locations in Brea, Tustin and Laguna Niguel, and will feature discounted professional attire from names like Armani and Ann Taylor. Visit www.thehanger boutiques.org.
