Elementary school principal to resign

College Park Elementary School Principal John Sanders announced his resignation Tuesday on account of personal reasons.

Sanders went on leave in the middle of May leading to some complaints from parents who said that the principal had been one of the main reasons for sending their children to the Costa Mesa school.

His resignation takes effect June 30 and Assistant Principal Julie Duddridge will continue to serve in his place until a permanent replacement can be found, said district spokeswoman Laura Boss.

Sanders could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday afternoon.
