Donovan comes up big in coaching debut at CdM

Sean Donovan, a senior for the Corona del Mar High boys’ basketball, has certainly kept busy this season.

In addition to leading the Sea Kings in scoring, he was also coaching the CdM seventh-grade boys’ basketball team. In his first season as coach, Donovan guided the seventh-graders to an undefeated season, as they finished 8-0 after a big win over rival Ensign.

The final game was the Battle of the Bay on the junior high level, as Ensign is the primary feeder school for Newport Harbor.

Donovan’s team included: Tommy Brooks, Ryan Cargile, Clay Chatham, Charlie Coffman, Adam Davis, Cameron Davis, Trent Dill, Tyler Duncan, Chase Forrest, Bo St Geme, Charlie Griffin, Tyler Lopp, Jack Molnar and Sam Younesi.
