The Huntington Beach High weightlifting club will hold its first session Feb. 10.
The class will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday through June 9 in “The Refinery†on campus. The first two classes are free.
Interested seventh- and eighth-graders are encouraged to attend on those two days.
Following the two free sessions, the cost for the class is $50 per month.
The club has been designed to help develop any seventh- or eighth-grade athlete who wants to participate in high school athletics. Each athlete will learn the basics of Olympic lifts and power lifts in a safe, controlled and monitored environment.
For more information, call Huntington football Assistant Coach Charlie Teganvoort, head of the weight-lifting club, at (714)- 658-2530.
