TINKERBELL AND TIGERLILY
The economic downturn has affected many cats and dogs. Many of them are being given up as couples divorce and some move in with other family members to save money, according to the Community Animal Network organization.
For instance, a Newport Beach Coast family adopted the beautiful Siamese-looking cats Tinkerbell and Tigerlily from the organization in 2007, but they have since divorced.
The wife took custody of the pair and moved, but the cats got stressed living in a smaller space and because the woman had to be away from home longer working.
These siblings will be available at the network’s Fashion Island pet adoptions from noon to 4 p.m. this weekend.

By the way, Maggie and Mickey the Labradors are still available for adoption and the network still needs help to cover their veterinary costs.
So far, it has cost $1,296 to rescue them. Ear surgery for the pair is on hold until more money can be raised.
