IRVINE — Kat Plummer, Jessica Lewis and Gianna Rossi scored two goal each for the No. 8-ranked Anteaters in their Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match against the No. 15-ranked Matadors Wednesday.
Julia Fancher added one goal, while Lauren Machanis recorded eight saves for UCI (13-7, 4-4 in the MPSF).
Lewis netted her second goal on a power play with 1:44 left in the third to put UCI up, 7-4.
The Anteaters will play at No. 4-ranked Hawaii Friday.

SANTA ANA — The Pirates trailed, 16-0 after two innings and never recovered in their Orange Empire Conference game that went five innings Wednesday.
Sophomore center fielder Allison Wyman, an Estancia High product, went two for three with an RBI and a double for OCC (3-23, 0-14 in conference).
The Dons improved to 17-15, 5-8.
The Pirates play host to Riverside Friday at 2 p.m.

SANTA ANA — James Warburton led the Pirates with a four-under-par 68 in the four-way match at Santa Ana Country Club Wednesday.
The Pirates (6-6) went 1-2 Wednesday, losing to Palomar, which also shot a 379, but won the match on a card-off.
Other OCC scores included Ryan Indovina (75), Ryan Oriza (77), Jeff Appelbaum (79), Tony Lee (80) and Robert Davis (84).
BASEBALL
Biola 12, Vanguard 8
LA MIRADA — Senior outfielder Luke Iverson went three for five with two RBIs, a double and a run for the Lions in their Golden State Athletic Conference game Wednesday.
Junior third baseman Zach Leighton and junior outfielder Jason Machado had two hits each for the Lions (15-18, 6-15 in conference), while junior designated hitter Zachary Falk had two RBIs and two runs.
David West led Biola (23-9, 14-7) with three hits and two RBIs.
Vanguard plays in a doubleheader at Fresno Pacific Saturday at 11 a.m.

FULLERTON — Freshman third baseman Drew Hillman went three for five with eight RBIs and three runs to lead the Pirates to their seventh straight Orange Empire Conference win Tuesday.
Hillman smacked a three-run triple in the first inning, then clubbed a grand slam in the third for his first home run of the season. He later added an RBI single in the fifth for his eight RBI of the game. He finished one RBI shy of tying the school’s single-game record of nine, held by Derek Dehdashtian in 1988 and equaled by Jason Reuss in 1999.
The Pirates improved to 23-7, 7-1 in conference, while the Hornets dropped to 21-9, 2-6.
OCC sophomore left-hander Brandon Dixon improved to 7-1 with his six-inning performance. He allowed one earned run on four hits, walking three and striking out five.
The Pirates play host to Fullerton today at 2:30 p.m.
