Investigative journalist to speak at UC Irvine

No history of investigative journalism in the last half-century would be complete without Seymour Hersh, the Pulitzer Prize-winner whose work has encompassed the My Lai massacre in Vietnam, the CIA’s involvement in a number of countries and, most recently, the Abu Ghraib scandal in Iraq.

On Tuesday, Hersh plans to speak on recent American foreign policy at UC Irvine, in a speech titled “The Road from 9/11 to Abu Ghraib,” at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Instructional Building.

Hersh is the latest guest in the Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellows Series. He has written seven books and was a former staff writer for the New York Times and Associated Press.
