Reality series casting seeks the rich and local

Lifetime Television network casting agents are looking for people in Orange County with big money and big personality who like to throw even bigger parties for a new reality TV series.

The series “It’s My Party,” which aims to chronicle the elaborate parties of the elite in Orange County, will film episodes for its first season locally November, December and January.

“It’s like MTV’s ‘My Super Sweet 16,’ but for grown-ups,” casting producer Andy Hirsch said. “Grown-ups have more money to spend on their parties.”

The show will star Orange County party guru Brian Dobbin, a planner and caterer who throws parties for the rich and famous.

Casting agents will visit the homes of potential party hosts for interviews. Chosen hosts have to pay for their parties, but get a free taste of fame in return, Hirsch said.

“If they’re willing to pay for it, then we’ll try to make it happen, no matter how over-the-top,” Hirsch said. “People like to flaunt their good taste we’re looking for people with big personalities.”
