COSTA MESA — Ashley Peters shot seven-over-par 42 and was the individual medalist at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Tuesday, helping the Eagles improve to 6-0, 3-0 in the Orange Coast League.

Jackie Crosson finished second for Estancia with a 46, followed teammates Kim Haycraft (47), Nushin Tasbihchi (49) and Costa Mesa’s Kelly Hiratata (50). Estancia’s Nicole Irigoyen shot a 52.

Costa Mesa (1-2 in league) had scores posted by Lindsay Slaney (54), Cayley Camarillo (55), Shelby Ferris (56) and Melissa Dean (60).

The Eagles play a league match against Laguna Beach today at San Clemente Golf Course at 3 p.m.

Fountain Valley 273

NEWPORT BEACH — Sophomore Lauren Draganza shot seven-over-par 43 to help the Sailors remain undefeated in Sunset League play at Big Canyon Country Club Tuesday.

Tiffany Kim shot 45, Ali Thomas carded 46, Morgan Moody 47 and Kendall Horn 48 for Newport Harbor (7-1, 3-0 in league).

Fountain Valley’s Cherice Speckmeyer earned medalist honors with her 40.

The Sailors return to Sunset League action Thursday, when they face Los Alamitos at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach.

Corona del Mar 240

NEWPORT BEACH — Katherine Hanson shot nine-over-par 44 to lead the Sea Kings, who suffered their first Pacific Coast League loss Tuesday at Newport Beach Country Club.

Amanda Johnson shot 48, while Tess Crane and Monica Phan finished with 49 for Corona del Mar (2-3, 2-1 in league). Kelly Moorhead shot 50 for the Sea Kings.

Victoria Park was one-over to earn medalist honors for the Vaqueros (2-1 in league).

Sage Hill 282

IRVINE — Amy Babbush led the Lightning with a 17-over-par 53 during an Academy League match at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course Tuesday.

Kimberly Venditozzi and her sister Kelsey Venditozzi each shot a 56, followed by Sara Anderson (58), Christie Li (59) and Sara White (59) for Sage Hill (1-4, 1-2 in league).

Fairmont Prep’s Tavleen Kodnar was the medalist with a 45.

Orange Lutheran 7

COSTA MESA — For the first time this season, the Eagles swept the doubles action in a nonleague match Tuesday.

Kendra Fisher, normally a No. 2 singles player, played on the No. 2 doubles team with Laurel Hinson and won, 6-3, 6-3, 6-1. Fisher had minor surgery on her foot on Friday.

Alex Payzant and Erin Rodman were also impressive for Estancia and will move up to the No. 2 doubles spot.

The Eagles (5-3) play host to Tustin today at 3 p.m.

FULLERTON — Brittany Sowers and Kristen Kahn won two doubles sets for the Sailors in their nonleague match Tuesday at Troy High.

The Newport Harbor doubles team of Alex McIntosh and Ariana Cernius won a set, as did teammate Lexy Longman in singles against Troy, the top-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division I.

Newport Harbor (5-1), ranked No. 8 in the Division II coaches’ poll, plays at Marina on Thursday in its Sunset League opener.

NEWPORT BEACH — Without one of their top seniors in Megan Munce, who had an appendectomy Sunday, the Sailors posted a 25-16, 25-11, 25-12 nonleague win Tuesday behind 10 kills from Mary Buckingham.

Newport Harbor Coach Dan Glenn said Munce, an opposite hitter who’s headed to Texas Christian University, will be out for two weeks.

Alex Penewell added nine kills and two blocks for Newport Harbor (7-1), which will open Sunset League play Tuesday at Esperanza at 5:30 p.m.

University def. Sage Hill

IRVINE — Colleen Heyler finished with 12 kills and passed well during a 25-20, 25-16, 25-23 nonleague loss Tuesday.

Madison Gordon-Lavaee added four kills and two blocks for the Lightning (1-6).

Sage Hill will play in the Capistrano Valley Tournament starting Friday at 4 p.m.

Newport Harbor 6,

Villa Park 5

VILLA PARK — Colin McKibbin scored three goals as the Sailors edged Villa Park for the second time in four days on the road Tuesday.

Clinton Jorth scored twice for Newport Harbor (8-1), coming off its South Coast Tournament championship and now ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

Newport Harbor defeated Villa Park, 8-7, in the semifinals of the South Coast Tournament Saturday.

The Sailors play host to University on Saturday.
