Short sketches celebrate comedy in relationships

“Romantic Fools,” a collection of short comedies by Rich Orloff, will run at Orange Coast College Repertory Theatre Company from Friday through Sunday.

Through scenarios such as a woman on a horrible blind date, a wife coping with a too-perfect husband and a man dealing with an attractive, yet manipulative date, Orloff’s two-person sketches celebrate the humor in male-female relationships; they are aimed at mature audiences.

Orloff has taught at Oberlin College, Miami’s City Theater and at the Connecticut Young Playwrights Program.

Curtain is set for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights, and 2:30 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $6 and can be reserved by calling (714) 432-5880. Tickets will be $7 at the door.
