Campaign touts dangers of drinking and driving

Newport-Mesa Law Enforcement Agencies and the Orange County Department of Health are kicking off a new campaign this week to remind drivers of the consequences of driving under the influence.
Starting Tuesday both Newport Beach and Costa Mesa police departments, along with the county health department, will have anti-DUI banners posted on all Orange County Transportation Authority buses working in the area, police said. The campaign will last for the next two to three months and is aimed at preventing people from drinking and driving, said Newport Beach Police Sgt. Evan Sailor.
